He LOVES Chirstmas

Sunday morning (at 7:00am) I was greeted with a little boy clutching a stuffed Santa, snowman, and reindeer. He informed me that his sleep machine had gone off (I set the sleep machine for "rest" time and I tell him he must stay in his room until the machine goes off...this also translates in the mornings when he wakes up). We went downstairs and I was making waffles when he spotted Ernie. "LOOK, ITS ERNIE" he exclaimed. Ernie is our Elf on the Shelf and Wip had been waiting for his return all year. We talked about Ernie's special powers and how we can never ever touch him because he will lose his magic. Wip told me that Ernie needed to watch the movie Elf so that he could see another elf (Buddy). Such a welcoming little guy.

Later that afternoon the boys were playing downstairs and Wip comes running up the stairs with a toy from the hidden stash in the basement. I freaked. Patrick was more calm and rational. He told Wip that Ernie had brought the toy from the North Pole and it was supposed to be a surprise. Wip's heart was racing. He was so nervous that he had messed up the big plan. Such a concerned little man.

That evening we went to Mimi and Granddaddy's house for dinner. Wip loved the Christmas decorations and went right for the tiny manger toys that Mimi placed on the shelf. He played with the figurines for over an hour. He would take the cow and walk it over to the donkey and then play with the baby Jesus. He was memorized. Such a tiny toy loving little boy.

I have a feeling it is going to be a good holiday season.
