My parents agreed to take the boys for the weekend. Let's just say that Saturday morning included me skipping around the kid free house ready to tackle a long to do list. Everyone did great and the boys were able to be in Big Blue country when the Cats beat the Cards to move on to the Final Four. Go Cats (and thanks Mom and Dad:)
Ain't No Future In Yo Frontin'
Tuesday, March 27, 2012
In college I listened to "Ain't No Future in Yo Frontin" by Bootleg/MCBreed no less than 1000 times (remember this Kelly?). There is a line in the song when he says "I got dollars in my pocket not from rollin', I'm a Navigator rider it ain't stolen". Wip and Preston totally took me back to listening to that song when they went riding in the pink Navigator. Check it out...
On the way home from playing with Preston, Aunt Fe Fe gave Wip a popsicle. He does not really have the eating a popsicle and walking thing down. Duncan and I were a few houses ahead and I looked back and said "Wip, pick it up buddy" and he responded "but mommy I not drop anything". Gosh he makes me laugh.
The Yuppiest Morning Ever
Saturday, March 24, 2012
Our errands this morning included Trader Joe's, Starbucks, J.Crew and a KCD baseball game.
Could that list be anymore yuppified?
Starting the day with these two is pretty perfect |

Zoo with Friends
Wednesday, March 21, 2012
Is it March? Yes. Is it 86 degrees outside? Yes. Does that mean we needed a trip to the zoo with our friends? Absolutely!
We picked up Israel for an afternoon of fun and Wip passed out on the way to his house. I started a conversation with Israel (while Wip was asleep) and asked him what his favorite music instrument was, he replied "symbols". He then asked me what I thought that Wip's favorite music instrument was and I told him that Wip enjoyed the piano. Israel replied "yeah, I can see him as a Beethoven". Not kidding, I almost lost it I was laughing so hard.
Aunt Fe Fe was kind enough to transport Duncan so that I could fit Israel and Wip in my car. The kids were so excited to get into the zoo!
Sadly the hippos were not around, but that did not stop these boys from searching.
Preston is pretty good at smiling for the camera.
You can tell that these little people have their picture taken (a lot!). As soon as I tried to get them to sit together all they kept saying was "CHEEEEEEEEESE".
This was one of my favorite moments of the day...I told the boys that their daddy's went to school together. They were going back and forth with Israel saying "my daddy is Scott" and Wip saying "my daddy is Patrick". It was pretty cute.
Just a poon full of sugar...

He's Crafty
Saturday, March 17, 2012
All I could think of when creating this post was "She's Crafty" by the Beastie Boys. Here is a display of Wip's art projects from his time in the Turtle Class with Ms. Marie.
March Madness
Friday, March 16, 2012
Just like March Madness is all over the place (hello Lehigh beating Duke!) so is this post.
All week long Wip kept talking about a book that he was reading at school "Patrick the Elephant". He talked about it so much that I wrote a note to Ms. Marie telling her how much he enjoyed the book. Well, I got the weekly newsletter today and the book is actually called "Elmer the Patchwork Elephant".
Ooops.
During nap time today Wip told me that he was going to read me a book. He picked out some advanced reading:

When he got to this page, he said apple, bread, cake, and pine cone. For some reason this made me laugh.
Finally, just as March Madness teaches us, anything can happen. I bleed blue, but wish the Dores good luck.
Stock Market Day
Wednesday, March 14, 2012
Our day was like the stock market. It had its ups and downs.
We started out with a great 9 month wellness check up for Duncan. He weighs 20 pounds (50%), is 29 5/8 inches (92%), and his head circumference is 18 3/4 in (95%)...like father like son! Nurse Sue said that he is right on target with everything and he did not even cry during his finger prick. He is the best.

Happy Baby |
When we got home from the doctor we had a special package at the door from Grams's friend Beth Jackson! A special circus picnic blanket that will be perfect for spring afternoons at the park.
Thank you Beth! |
Brothers playing |
Then the day started to go downhill. After trying to put the boys down for a nap (unsuccessfully) I left the oven burning while tending to a crying baby and the entire house became a smokey mess. Wip spilled an entire jar of enchilada sauce on his shirt (that I just put him in) when trying to "help" me make a casserole for Kristen and Bob (they just had Baby Everett on Friday!). After cleaning Wip up and getting both boys dressed for an afternoon with their friends, Duncan was trying to keep up with his brother and fell on his tooth and got a bloody lip. Shooowee, I am exhausted just typing that.
Poor little man |
We ended the day with our best friends at Henry's Ark (not mamas favorite place, but hey its for the kids).
Feeding the goats |
The sun is shining on these three little angels |
Watch out for the creepy emu! |
Just like the stock market you have good moments and bad, but I would trade any of it for the world.
$#*! Wip Says
Monday, March 12, 2012
Today we passed a toy store (Playthings) and Wip pointed out that his Mimi took him there. He then proceeded to tell me that "he did not wanna yak". I busted out laughing and said "what?!" He further explained that he did not want a yak, but he wanted a rhino at the toy store. Shoowee.
A little later in the day he began talking about Uncle Scotty and Auntie. He told me that Auntie was having a baby boy. I agreed. He then told me that "Auntie's baby was in her belly button". This kid is hilarious.
