Playing House

Saturday, June 30, 2012

It only took the entire week for the children to realize just how much fun they could have with each other.  On Friday evening we heard lots of giggles coming from Linda's room. When I walked in Kendall informed me that they were playing house and Wip was the daddy, Lucas was the baby, and she (of course) was the mommy. House turned into story time which turned into sticker time. They had a ball.

Life Is Good To Me

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

I often wonder what life would have been like without an amazing husband and two wonderful boys add to that a wonderful family with two adorable nephews and a beach house in South Carolina and I would really question how it gets any better.

Song of the Summer

Friday, June 22, 2012

Very happy to hear his favorite song
When I was 16 years old I drove a beat up green Volvo. I loved it. I remember in the summer popping in a killer mixed tape and just cranking it up. I was that girl that you look over at the red light and would be singing at the top of her lungs like no one else was around.

Yesterday, I relived those fun times only this time Wip and Duncan were in the car with me. Wip's song of the summer is We Are Young by Fun ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sv6dMFF_yts). He seriously knows every word. When the song came on he started singing so I cranked it up.  When the chorus came on  we fist pumped.  Yes, we were totally that car that gets those looks at the red light and I loved every minute of it.

We also enjoyed some popsicles on the patio...I freaking love summer.

Do they make them any cuter?
Summer has gotten off to a great start.  Sweet baby William is home and getting used to the world around him, we had an nice adult weekend in Nashville with the Sherrards (thanks Grams and Poppy!), and potty training is becoming bearable with much more successes than accidents.

All of the Mulloy boys had a summer haircut scheduled last week. Mimi was so sweet to help out while I was at a work function. After everyone was trimmed and looking spiffy, Patrick was holding Duncan and his diaper must have shifted because pee pee started running out of the diaper and all over the floor. As everyone was helping to get it cleaned up, Wip looks up at Duncan with a most serious face and says "Duncan, we pee pee in the potty, not on the floor" (do you think he has heard this before?).

One morning last week I got up earlier than Wip (he has adjusted to the summer schedule beautifully). I went ahead and got his breakfast ready which included a cereal bar (mixed berry), strawberries (he loves strawberries these days), and a cup of milk.  Once he got settled and started munching on his breakfast he looked up at me with the most sincere face and said "mommy, you are such a good cook".  Sometimes I could just gobble him up.

Wip enjoyed camp at the Temple and there was not one day that he came home in a different outfit which means he did not have one accident (yeah!).  Each day I would ask how his day at camp went and who he played with. Sometimes I would throw in a name, for example "Wip, did you play with Dagny today?".  He would always respond "No, she was sick".  I finally caught on that the children that I would bring up did not sign up for camp, but in Wip's mind he just thought that they were under the weather.  Too funny.

Daddy and Duncan had plenty of bonding time last week while I was at work and Wip was at camp.  Check out this video of Patrick sneaking up on him after a nap.  This will be replayed a million times because it just makes me laugh.

Finally, we officially have a walker and an Elvis impersonator. Check it out:

Haines Family Visits Louisville

Sunday, June 10, 2012

This weekend a very special friend and her family came in town for a visit.  Ann, Dan, Parker, and Hadley drove in from Cincinnati and lets just say that it did not take much for Parker and Wip to become great friends. Here is how it went down:

Parker: Do you like dinosaurs?
Wip-Yeah!

That was pretty much it.  Two peas in a pod.  When Parker woke up on Sunday morning he started crying and Ann said "what is the matter with you?", Parker replied "I forgot my best friend's name!", she said "are you talking about Wip?", in which he said "yeah, that is it."  Friends for life.

We went to the zoo on Saturday morning and got to see the dinosaur exhibit (little gruesome at the end) and then the adults headed to LCC for the member/guest tennis tournament and the children went to Preston's 3rd birthday party with Kate and Caroline.  Fun was had by all!
